Doña Julia Golf Resort is located in Estepona, just a short drive away from the Marinas of Sotogrande, Duquesa, Estepona and Puerto Banus. This is a newly constructed golf course which makes the most of the natural landscape of the area, notable for its wonderful views of the Mediterranean. It was designed by highly-acclaimed Malagan architect, Antonio Garcia Garrido, responsible for some of Spain’s most distinctive golf courses.
The course, 18 holes, par 72 and 6.100 metres long, has been built according to United States Golf Association (USGA) rules and regulations with regard to the tees, bunkers, drainage and greens. The most outstanding feature of this course however, constructed by Grupo Evamaria, is the spacious feel of the greens with an average area of 700m2.
The course contains two very varied layouts, being suitable for all types of player. The first 9 holes are longer and more difficult, winding between indigenous trees, lakes and rivers, while the other nine holes, next to the sea and with mild inclines, represent a more comfortable round; a challenge both for professional and low-handicap players.
Respect for the environment, quality of materials used in its construction and the previously mentioned spacious feel of the greens, together with highly impressive views of the sea and mountains, make the Doña Julia Golf Club a truly spectacular venue for playing golf.
The facilities are completed by the Club House, situated in the Park Hyatt Casares Hotel, this is a spacious practice course measuring over 300 metres in length with short game training areas, a 9-hole par 3 course and a soon-to-open International Golf School where you will be able to learn and improve your technique under the expert tutelage of golfing professionals. |
