Doña Julia Golf Course

Doña Julia Golf Resort is located in Estepona, just a short drive away from the Marinas of Sotogrande, Duquesa, Estepona and Puerto Banus. This is a newly constructed golf course which makes the most of the natural landscape of the area, notable for its wonderful views of the Mediterranean. It was designed by highly-acclaimed Malagan architect, Antonio Garcia Garrido, responsible for some of Spain most distinctive golf courses.
The course, 18 holes, par 72 and 6.100 metres long, has been built according to United States Golf Association (USGA) rules and regulations with regard to the tees, bunkers, drainage and greens. The most outstanding feature of this course however, constructed by Grupo Evamaria, is the spacious feel of the greens with an average area of 700m2.
The course contains two very varied layouts, being suitable for all types of player. The first 9 holes are longer and more difficult, winding between indigenous trees, lakes and rivers, while the other nine holes, next to the sea and with mild inclines, represent a more comfortable round; a challenge both for professional and low-handicap players.

"The most outstanding feature of this course is the spacious feel of the greens with an average area of 700m2"

Respect for the environment, quality of materials used in its construction and the previously mentioned spacious feel of the greens, together with highly impressive views of the sea and mountains, make the Doña Julia Golf Club a truly spectacular venue for playing golf.
The facilities are completed by the Club House, situated in the Park Hyatt Casares Hotel, this is a spacious practice course measuring over 300 metres in length with short game training areas, a 9-hole par 3 course and a soon-to-open International Golf School where you will be able to learn and improve your technique under the expert tutelage of golfing professionals.
Visitors to the Doña Julia Golf resort will no doubt be impressed with the care and thought given to the design and execution of the course and its surroundings. With its low level development potential, high quality finishing and plenty of top leisure facilities this is certain to become a popular point of reference for golfers visiting the area.
As well as three 18 hole golf courses, shopping areas and restaurants, three football pitches and horse riding facilities, there will also be two luxury hotels run by the international Hyatt group. One of these, the 6-star Hyatt Casares Hotel will no doubt become the main note of distinction for the resort. The hotel complex, certain to exceed all expectations, has been conceived as a typical, tiered Andalusian village and its facilities include 150 rooms, 27 of which are 45m2 suites,a high-tech fitness centre, a 4.500m2 Spa with 12 treatment rooms and therapeutic services, a 2.000 m2 swimming pool and several exclusive restaurants serving a wide range of specialties, as well as seven meeting rooms and a Business Centre.
The entire Doña Julia Golf resort will be large and imposing, encompassing more than 650 hectares, it is also very well located being 150 metres from the beach and a short distance from Marina de la Duquesa. All in all Doña Julia looks set to become a welcome and popular addition to the area.
